SSC or Staff Selection Commission, an organization under Govt. of India which mainly conducts examinations for the recruitment of various posts of different sectors. It is one of the largest body that offers and ensures jobs to the eligible candidates of the country. SSC has released a notification of General Duty Constable Posts (GD) of 39,481 in various sectors like BSF, CISF, SSF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, ASSAM RIFLE and Sepoy in NCB under the HQ-C-3007/12/2024-C-3.

Pay Level -1 (Rs 18,000 to 56,900) for the post of Sepoy in NCB and Pay Level – 3 (₹21,700/- to ₹ 69,100/-) for all other posts.

Nationality/ Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India. Vacancies in CAPFs & AR are State/UT/area wise, hence a candidate must submit a domicile certificate/ PRC against his domiciled state/ UT. The crucial date for age reckoning is fixed.

Age Limit:

Candidate age must be between 18 to 23 years as on 01/01/2025.

Age Relaxation:

Age relaxation is also applicable for special categories

For Ex-serviceman – 3 years

Selection Process:

  1. Computer Based Examination: The Computer-Based Examination will consist of one Objective Type Paper containing 80 questions carrying 2 marks each with the following composition: –

Note- All the questions will be of Objective Multiple-Choice Type. The Computer-Based Examination will be conducted in English, Hindi and 13 Regional languages viz. (i) Assamese, (ii) Bengali, (iii) Gujarati, (iv) Kannada, (v) Konkani, (vi) Malayalam, (vii) Manipuri, (viii) Marathi, (ix) Odia, (x) Punjabi, (xi) Tamil, (xii) Telugu and (xiii) Urdu.

Attention- There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.

Syllabus of CBT:

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through
questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial
visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural
classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.

General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general
awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and such matters of
everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include
questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any
discipline.

Elementary Mathematics: This Section will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole
Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and the relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio
and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work,
etc.

English/ Hindi: Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and their basic comprehension will be tested.
