Development and It’s Relationship with Learning
Child development Principles:
Development involves the overall growth of a child. There are some special principles of child development. These are as follows-
1. Development follows a pattern/sequence
2. Development occurs from general to specific
3. Development involves change
4. Development is correlated or Integrated
5. Development is a continuous process
6. Development occurs at different rates for different body parts
7. Development proceeds step by step
8. Development is predictable
9. Early development is important than later development

Factors Influencing Development:
Child development is control by several factors. All these factors are
1. Internal factors:
Heredity– It controls the shape and ability of child. It influences the growth of an individual.
Physical Factor – It can influence different aspects of child development at different ways. Healthy physique requires proper nutrition.
Intelligence – Intelligence affects the development of metal ability and emotion in a child. It affects the thought process, creative thinking and problem solving abilities.
Emotional Factors – It controls the social, mental and physical along with moral development. Balanced emotional development helps in socialization process.
2. External Factors:
Family – Family influences the overall development of child. It has great role in shaping the child in perfect way. Moral education, socialization abilities are learnt from the family for the first time. Healthy family promotes the healthy development of child. Stressful family produces maladjusted personality.
Physical Environment – The environment where child is growing up has also plays an important role in developing the child’s health and physique. Polluted environment makes the child unhealthy and thus it affects the other developmental aspects.
Socio-economic Conditions – The socio-economic condition also affects the growing process of children. A well established family can take care of a child whereas poor family can’t.
